Using Content Editor Feature Restriction in the Matrix CMS, we can deny content authors from touching specific assets (for examples: Video, Audio assets). We can either configure it globally via System Configuration or as part of the User Group.

In our system, we use Single Sign-On integration, and that means all users are created under a central root. When configuring Feature Restrictions, we end up in a situation where we can only deny all users a specific feature .

We'd like to have the ability to have more granular controls. As an example, we want to deny all users the ability to create and modify Video assets, we want to be able to move a group of users (i.e. Marketing team) under a User Group asset, then give them the ability to create Video assets.
